I realized that when my kids were growing, my investment in their lives still outweighed my investment in my own. Now I enjoy helping other find their stories and their voices to share with the world.
I used to be a freelancer.
After college, I worked on freelance projects for small businesses in my hometown.
I love helping people find their inner writer.
Whether their goal is to share their own story or to write for others, helping others develop their writing skills revs me up!

I grab my laptop from my nightstand and open it.
“Well, are you going to tell me what it is?” Clive asks, doing a bit of an eye-roll. I smile at him, suddenly eager, and lighter than I’ve been in a long time, I click a few buttons on my laptop.... and then, “Done.”
“Done? What’s done?” Clive asks. “Before I got fired, Chad got a new account to take over marketing erotica writer Alec West's new book. It’s a super important account for him because, you know, Alec West is a legend.-"
“No, I did not know that,” Clive says.
I roll my eyes and continue, “Well, he is. And guess what I just bought?” I ask, nearly bursting with excitement. Clive looks at me dryly, “Um... Alec West?”
“What?! He’s a person! I can’t buy a person!”
Clive shrugs. “Hookers are people. You can buy them.”
“Excellent point, but, “No, I did not buy Alec West. I bought his book....” I pause for dramatic effect, “ten thousand copies of it!”
Silence. Clive just stares at me, an almost bored look on his face.
“Well?! Did you hear what I just said? I said I bought-"
“Ten thousand copies of a book, yeah, I heard you.”
